We get so many enquiries from lovely people, asking about our kittens, and so few make it onto our waiting list, simply because many of you are wishing to adopt and hold your special Russian Blue kitten before we have any Wychwood kittens available.

This is a place for all of our lovely Wychwood Russian Blue feline family members, to thank you for waiting so patiently for your special little babies, and for being so involved and interested in every step of their creation. To those of you who are not yet members of our waiting list, these are some of the special priviledges that we accord our families:

At Wychwood Russian Blue Cats, we like to ensure that we produce kittens to the specific preference of our owners. For this, we involve our waiting list members at every step, often offereing those interested, a selected picture gallery of stud males so that they can decide which one they prefer. We made sure to send the pictures and links of Eddy's parents to our members to be sure that they liked what they saw, and we are pleased that the response was very positive, even though most of them will not be having his kittens! Wychwood families receive regular, personal email updates about how Freja is progressing through her calls, and if and when we are likely to have her mated. They are actively informed about how her pregnancy is progressing, and we are only too happy to text, email or phone our adopting families to let them know as soon as their baby is born!

We appreciate that the bonding process can take place even before our kittens are conceived, and usually, by the time the kittens are born, we have a very warm relationship with our parents, and they are invited for special visits when the babies are tiny. They may not always get to hold the little ones, but they can visit and take a quick peek to see how tiny the kittens are. Freja is very good-natured about these quiet, brief visits to her nest, or we wouldn't allow them to happen! Pictures are invaluable to help the parents decide which personality suits them best, but there is nothing to replace the visits that we encourage all throughout the baby-hood of the kittens. We are more than happy for people to take their time in choosing their special kitten, and we do not take deposits until such a time that the kittens are big enough and have been visited at least once by their prospective parent(s).

At Wychwood, we understand that true love cannot always be rushed, and we are committed to allowing our special families to take the time to make the right choice for them. Our kitten visits can often take around three hours, and it is three hours pleasurably spent in the company of genuinely delightful people. We are pleased to talk to about our kittens, our breeding ethos and our plans for the future of our cats and kittens with those who are interested, and even some who aren't ;-) We encourage our entire waiting list to come and visit the kittens, even if they are not adopting from that particular litter, because we appreciate their assistance in socialising our kittens. Some of our devoted families travel for many miles to visit all of our litters even though they are only adopting from our D litter! It is this dedication that we want to celebrate with this page.

If we are contacted by allergy sufferers, we will ensure that their visit is as productive as possible, providing a scrupulously hygienic home environment so as not to detract from focussing on feline allergens. We will discuss types of litters and other care routines in the feline home, and provide samples for skin and breathing tests. If you have an allergy to cats, we will ensure that we do everything to trigger it. It is important to us that all sufferers get a good chance to test their tolerance, and even if the visit is successful, we will encourage you to visit again and again, and will advise you as to our studs and mating selections, so that we maximise a low Fel D 1 count in the litter you are adopting from. Our cats are not without risks, but we will ensure that we try our uttmost to keep our lines as low in allergens as possible, and we will continue to commit the time and effort in caring for the needs of our allergic family members.

It is always a pleasure meeting our prospective and actual parents, and we keep in touch with all of our babies' parents, adding their pictures to our brag pages, and keeping the spirit of Wychwood Russian Blue cats alive in their memories of their first steps in owning one of our special babies. All of our past adopters are still a part of our future, and are always welcome to visit our kittens to help us socialise them as widely as possible. We feel that the extra care and time that we take with our buyers as well as our kittens, creates a relationship that benefits everyone concerned. If at any time one of our Wychwood families encounters a difficulty, we will do all that we can to help and assist them in solving it.

Another service offered by us is the hand delivery of each special kitten to it's new home. We feel that just because our kittens are confident and have developed a good relationship with their prospective parent(s), it is still a big and frightening trip to travel in a car that smells different to the one that they are used to, and so not only do we travel with them to acclimatise them to positive car journeys, but by all turning up to deliver them in their own, familiar kitten box, we create a transitional phase whereby our comforting smells and presence is carried with them to their new homes, along with their little blankets and kitten packs. By the time it comes to saying good-bye, our little ingrates are far to keen to explore their new and wonderful homes to want to be picked up and kissed by boring old us! We have had great success with this method, and our babies have had no transitional period of needing to be kept in a room on their own or any other such special treatment. In fact, they tend to curl up on their parents' beds and sleep there quite happily on their first night.

We are commited to the happiness of our Wychwood kittens and their lovely families, and without you all, we would not be in the enviable position of being able to speak of Wychwood Russian Blue Feline Families.
