International Champion 'A Flashpaws Limited Edition'

Eddy at 11 months, winning his International Champion title in Austria.
Before being allowed to adopt Freja, I had to convince the international Russian Blue breeders that I was serious about introducing this new type of Russian Blue to the UK. I had to explain which registry I was joining, how and where I was going to show our kittens, and convince them that I was committed to the TICA breed standard.

Eddy is larger and more muscular than his ladies, but he is a gentle little soul who loves cuddles.
Introducing a Russian Blue from a different standard and breeding it to such a radically different type of cat such as a UK-bred, GCCF registered Russian Blue, would produce kittens which meet neither standard. It is considered bad practice to produce kittens which do not meet the breeding standard of their pedigree register, and the means by which breeders demonstrate good breeding practice is to bring their cats and kittens to be judged at cat shows, which are held by their chosen registry. For us to meet this criteria, Freja had to travel abroad to meet appropriate studs.

Eddy at 1 month. You can already see a clear difference between the TICA standard and GCCF Russian Blue kittens.
A stud should embody the best traits of his breed standard and bring desirable traits to his kittens, and I spent a year researching pedigrees and lines before I approached the prestigious 'Flashpaws' cattery in Austria. Eddy as a wonderful, silvery pale coat of thick, plushy fur and large, luminous green eyes. He is a very affectionate boy who woos his ladies with his persistent purring and singing. He loves to groom their ears and sit next to them, which they find irresistible!

Eddy has a pale and very plushy coat, with lovely green eyes. Even though he is a working stud, he still retains the fine, delicate features which distinguish the TICA breed standard.

In this picture, you can see the wider spaced ear set of the TICA standard. Eddy is very sweet-natured, cuddly boy, who loves to curl up in my lap and purr his quiet purr, just like Freja.

You can really see the colour of Eddy's eyes in this picture.
