Sue: Wonderful Website!
I'm in Australia and share my life with a delightful Russian girl... I stumbled over your site while researching the FEL D-1 issue. What a brilliant, comprehensive, well-written and heart-felt site! Best I've seen. There's a good, academic approach to the allergy issue, which is refreshing, and lots of delightful Russian Blue stories in your photos. Well done.. I'll recommend you to anyone interested in these fabulous cats.

Wychwood Ephedra now Luna
Its been almost two months now since Luna joined our family. She is so loving, playful and extremely intelligent. She has us all wrapped around her little paw. Luna keeps the kids entertained for hours.
Before Luna, the kids would come home from school and fight over which TV programme to watch. Now they're fighting for Luna's attention.
Considering that our eldest son was so cautious that he could barely go near any of the Wychwood cats during our visits to the lovely Wychwood home, Luna spends most nights curled up in his bed. We're extremely happy and truly feel our family is almost complete. As soon as we get a larger home we'll be back for a second. The whole experience has been a pleasure from joining your waiting list to welcoming Luna into our home.

Oscar's parents
Dear Wychwood,
It's been 4 weeks now since we had Oscar and he is delightful - very gorgeous, affectionate and playful - we couldn't have asked for anything more.
Although my husband does have some allergic responses, they are definitely livable with and we hope that he will become further desensitised over time. We will keep you posted.

Rachel: Our darling Echy
Our Echy was the last kitten waiting for a home when we contacted Wychwood, and we fell in love with him straight away. It felt like he was meant for us, and Jeannine said he had been waiting for his perfect family, and that he had chosen us as his own! The Wychwood home is full of love and laughter, and the cats (and kittens!) are just adorable. On the website it says that the kittens are well socialised, and they are definitely that! Echy is a lovely little chap who will cuddle up to and play with anyone who comes in, and isn't fazed by any chatter or noise, including the hoover! I can't imagine what life was like before him. Jeannine and Jon are lovely people who genuinely care about the kittens and the homing process, and are with you for every step; in them I feel we have made lifelong friends. Their 3 children are lovely and intelligent young people, and have a definite hand in the feisty and confident nature of the kittens! Echy is very special to us and he has made our home complete :-)

Greg: Love my new home!!
Willow (Edel) has settled in to her new home so well, she's the most lovely affectionate friendly cat and loves her dad!
Just wanted to thank the Wychwood family for everything, they truly do breed the best cats for not just stunning looks but wonderful temperaments too.
For anyone thinking of having a kitten from WW, their process is fantastic. I visited 3 or 4 times before she was brought up to me, she 'chose' me on the first visit, and got to know me while she was growing, so when she was dropped off, she was quite happy very quickly with the change of environment, and now has a very strong bond with me.
So to sum up - Best looks, best personalities, best way of raising them, best people!
Thank you and see you all again before Christmas!
Greg

Ren & Craig: Hi from Boo!
Just a little note to let everyone know how wonderful Wychwood are :)
My boyfriend and I are probably the oldest waiting list veterans. We met Jeannine and Jon when they had first got Freja and they kindly invited us down to see her and make sure that she did not flare up Craig's allergies- which I'm happy to say she didn't! Jeannine and Jon were very supportive of us as we waiting until we had our new house sorted and felt we were ready to adopt a kitten. I'm happy to say that after two years, we've finally adopted Wychwood Bill Tickety-Boo (Who is currently madly dashing up and down the stairs). Boo is just the sweetest cat I've ever met. He's perfect for us and is making us so happy. We really couldn't speak highly enough of Wychwood and we wish everyone on the waiting list lots of love!

Daisy's mum: Kitten Heaven
Well here we are just over a week after you brought Daisy to us and we couldn't be happier. She and Harry seem to be such good pals - they lie for hours with each other, groom each other, eat together and seem to have no litter tray issues. Thank you so much for our beautiful, feisty little girl. Despite her size, she is more than a match for Harry, as we all thought she would be. They completment each other wonderfully, and now they have settled down and are splendid companions, I feel our family is complete. Very happy!
You coached us through and delivered just what we wanted - a well socialised, relaxed companion who would happily spend time with us but would also not be short of cat company. Harry has transformed such that he doesn't fight with us and just comes for snuggles when daisy has worn him out and he needs a rest! In the evenings they will sit on us and it's the best feeling at the end of a mad day - pure uncomplicated kitten love or 'providing a kitten parking place'! If you get both kits on your lap/chest it's heaven!!

Melanie Darlaston: Mrs
Went to see Jeannine and her lovely family(human and feline) on Friday in the hope that I would be able to adopt one of their beautiful kittens. I have always been severely allergic to cats and would normally have been reaching for my inhaler within 15 minutes of being in a cat household-3 hours later I was still breathing with only the occasional sneeze!
Sadly, on the way home my hands were itching so much(darn that eczema) that I realised that I was not going to be be able to take one of those beautiful bundles of grey fluff home. I also did get a bit wheezy too which is so bizarre given the time I had spent in the house surrounded by cats and kittens!
I am devastated and so envious of others in the Wychwood family who have one! Perhaps I will try again some time in the future....So nice to meet a responsible breeder who has happy healthy cats and kittens and who is so generous with her time! I do feel truly sad this morning!

Simon Crane: Incredible assistance - So grateful
I am not one who normally writes on guestbooks but the advice I received from Jeannine has invoked me into it. We had decided to get a Russian Blue and being a prominent breeder I emailed Wychwood. I received a response informing me that they would not have kittens for some time but offering me advice regardless. I subsequently have exchanged many emails with Jeannine and suffice to say her responses are anything but a one line answer - more like a comprehensive essay.
I can honestly say with confidence that I have NEVER met anyone as knowledgeable, dedicated, generous (although at no point was i offered a free Kitten, joke) and passionate about something as Jeannine is about Russian Blues.
I intend to remain in touch with her and hopefully one day to take ownership of one of her kittens.
Thank you so so much, Simon.

Val: Wychwood wonders
My lovely Wychwood Belaset is now nearly 10 months old and is a perfect example of Jon and Jeannine's careful and loving breeding programme. She is the most beautiful creature -healthy, fun-loving and friendly to all. She settled in so well, due in no little part I am sure to the Parfitts' dedication. Because they personally delivered her to me, she was never scared in her new home as she explored it surrounded by the loving humans she already knew. Bela is the most adorable companion and I cannnot thank Jeannine and Jon enough for this little treasure!

Val: A fantastic day
My daughter and I had a wonderful morning with Jon and Jeannine and the gorgeous Freja and her daughters. We had visited once before to try Katy out as she usually has an anaphylactic reaction to cats and she was fine so we thought we'd better make sure as I was hoping to adopt a beautiful kitty. It was amazing! Katy became a kitten magnet and was thoroughly licked, chewed, used as a playground and snuggled up with for 3 hours and was yet again absolutely allergy free. We now can't wait for our darling little kitten to come home without any worries at all. Jeannine and Jon are such careful and knowledgeable breeders that they are really thinking about trying for the lowest possible allergen in their litters and it means I can have the happiness of a companion kitty for the first time in 23 years! It sounds too good to be true and we couldn't really believe it would be ok, but it is. I would certainly encourage anyone who is nervous about their allergy to give these wonderful cats a try - you might be as delightedly surprised as we are!
Thank you again Jeannine and Jon for your loving care of such precious little charges - and their prospective adoptee parents too!

I'm a big fan of russian blues living in Japan. I'd love to breed someday:) Getting my first cat soon and reading about your experiences in the blog and articles is great.

Anette: Kitten-tastic!
Well, as you can see on the blog pages, I went to see Jon and Jeannine yesterday to meet their and Freja's kids :-)
We had a lovely afternoon, and the kittens were to sweet! I even made friends with Freja, until the point where she flashed her belly at me and I took it as an invitation... She wasn't so keen after that, but I don't blame her!
I would have taken many more pictures but unfortunately (well, for Jeannine and Jon) Cuddles was sleeping so happily in my hand, crook of my arm, etc, that I didn't get around to it until late! Hopefully if I visit again it will be lighter when taking photos so that I can also capture Freja's rather lovely blue coat...
Thanks for a lovely afternoon guys! - Anette

Linda, Martin, Catriona, Tabitha and Flo...: Proud New Owners
We are the equally proud adoptive parents of Anduril and Arador, aka Pushkin and Tolstoi. Delightful, beautiful, funny and friendly, they are a very welcome addition to our family. While wonderfully social with humans (though sensibly wary of our three year old), they still spend plenty of time curled up together, and are rarely far apart. Never having had sibling animals before, we find their continuing closeness fascinating. No Christmas tree for us this year - following an unfortunate incident with a curtain, now rehung on a rather more robust pole (that will teach us to indulge in false economy!) - but it's been a small price to pay for the pleasure Pushkin and Tolstoi have already brought us. They had a hard act to follow, being in some senses a replacement for our extraordinary and deeply loved Kyrgyz dog who died last spring, but early indications are certainly positive! A heartfelt thank you to Jeannine, Jon and the children for nurturing such charming and companionable creatures, whom I'm sure will be a source of joy for many years to come.

Anette: How lovely they all are!
Wow - we really wanted a Wychwood kitten, and now we really want two!
They are so lovely, if Kosmos' babies are anything like this we are all lucky to have one. What I really like about the latest, is that they are sooo relaxed and look so happy, it's great to see what good homes they have!

Val: What a charmer!
What a cutie Kosmos looks. Just the sort of handsome beau the lovely Freja deserves. :-)

Hilary and John: Our new kitten
We are the proud new owners of Wychwood Aragorn. His new "home name" is Nevsky, which he is gradually learning to recognise.
Nevsky is wonderful - very beautiful, very outgoing and alternates between whirling dervish mode and total collapse into sleep! Wait until he sees his first Christmas tree! He plays happily with all his visiting fans - our neighbour's 12 year old son has pronounced him "the cutest thing on the planet!"
Many thanks to Jeannine, Jon and the family for our fantastic new companion - we love him to bits!

Guest: Wonderful
What wonderful cats. I am severely allergic to cats, and would not normally be able to be in the same room as a cat for more than a few minutes. I spent a great morning with Jon and Jeannine and the cats - and felt absolutely fine. Gorgeous, playful and beautiful cats, and terrific breeders.

Val: Miracle cats!
Thanks so much to Jon and Jeannine for a wonderful morning with your beautiful cats. They are obviously much loved, very sociable and fabulous examples of the breed. Even better my daughter, who is dangerously allergic to most cats, was completely fine with them - a dream come true. I am on the waiting list and don't care how long it takes. It will be worth the wait to get pets from such thoughtful and caring breeders. Val

Guest: Nice russians
Hi
From Australia
Love the babies. Really nice looking Russians. We breed them in OZ and there is nothing like a Russian Blue, especially when they are kittens, all have different personalities and traits.
Good Luck and regards

Miss R. Fletcher and Mr C. Howarth: Truely wonderful breeders!
We went to visit the wychwood cat family last week and had the most wonderful experience.
The cats are absolutely the most beautiful creatures we have ever seen in the flesh! So playful and happy to be picked up and cuddled by us.
My boyfriend has had bad cat allergies previously, so we needed to come and visit the cats to see if he reacted- and I'm happy to say that he didn't! We will be getting some kittens next year.
Jon and Jeannine were knowledgeable, welcoming and ever so helpfull and accomodating. They are very highly recommended to anyone looking to buy a fabulous cat,
-Ren and Craig.
