My husband Jon has an Oxford degree in biology and has specialised in genetics and animal behaviour. He studied Animal Management and Small Population Genetics at the University of Liverpool and has worked extensively in the conservation, showing and breeding of rare breeds of cattle, poultry and sheep. He has over 20 years of experience of animal care practice, and is an animal management and behaviour consultant. I studied archaeology and anthropology at Oxford and am a free-lance archaeological researcher. I've also studied genetics and archaeological fauna, and have an interest in the genetic history of the domestic cat. However, my joy is research into the archaeological data of domestic feline populations in the Northern European region between A.D. 200 and A.D. 1100.

What begun as research into Viking and Anglo-Saxon textiles and clothing, ended for us in a growing delight and fascination with the Russian Blue cat and its history. With Jon’s experience in showing, judging and breeding pedigree animals, combined with our love of cats and my background in documentary research, the next logical step was to attend every cat show we could find, and carefully research the Russian Blue cat. We have been helped and advised by many wonderful breeders, and have made many friends across the world in the process.

We have three children who are avid cat-lovers, and they contribute to our cats' healthy development, play-time and socialisation skills. We are based in the city of Oxford, and can recommend a number of guest houses and restaurants to make your visit to Wychwood Russain Blue Cats and the dreaming spires more enjoyable. Please email us for any further information, as it is always a pleasure to discuss our cats.
